Biography
Abel Coentrão was born in Caxinas, he is the son, grandson and relative of fishermen from Poveiros and Caxineiros and grew up in a Portugal in transition, in a Portugal after the 25th of April that was leaving, very quickly, the art of fishing. Despite still having a brother and fisherman cousins in the family, his generation was the first in which not “going to the sea” happened with some naturalness, but the desire to recover a story with which he still grew up, he did so, in 2012 , with other fishermen's children, to create Bind'ó Peixe, a Cultural Association to defend the heritage of Caxinas and Poça da Barca.
